hotel view excellent vantage point high standard
I found the hotel views to be very nice. The location provided an excellent vantage point. The ambience of the rooms matched the hotel's general character. I thought the evening meal in the restaurant reached a high standard, and the breakfast also did.
The lack of blinds in the room let in a lot of light at daybreak.

Good Anniversary Stay

exquisite grounds convenient parking
The hotel features exquisite grounds and very convenient parking. I was very happy with the front desk welcome at check-in and check-out. Staff carried our luggage, a lovely touch. Our four poster bed was very comfortable and provided excellent sleep. I woke to birds singing.
The hotel only stocks European wines, which might limit options for some guests. There was a service charge on the final invoice. This was unexpected.

valley views main house hotel hives
the staff greeted me warmly upon arrival. my splendid room offered valley views and was conveniently located in the main house (i appreciated the upgrade). the breakfast was great, with honey sourced from the hotel's own hives.
the kettle in my room, though clean outside, needed internal cleaning.

heating system cracked cistern
The staff had a wonderful manner, attentive but not excessively so. This created a lovely experience.
The room heating system wasn't on upon arrival. It took over an hour to warm up after contacting reception. Maintenance issues in the bathroom included rusty Venetian blinds and a cracked toilet cistern. the Wi-Fi code was not provided at check-in. I had to ask for it.
