Review summary
Based on recent reviews
Powered by AI
The Stump is often praised for its excellent location, providing easy access to key Cotswolds villages. Guests consistently enjoy the spacious and tidy rooms featuring comfy beds and good bed linen, and find the breakfast amazing. The on-site pub and restaurant stand out, particularly the wood-baked pizzas; however, some guests have mentioned less desirable views from certain rooms. Despite this, many consider the hotel excellent value for money.

acceptable stay, but issues noted

small bathroom early breakfast
the room was clean upon arrival, which met basic expectations.
I found the bathroom to be quite small. Showering felt cramped. the lack of a proper wardrobe, with only wooden pegs provided, was inconvenient. breakfast finishing at 9.30 am felt too early, especially considering checkout was at 10.00 am. This limited the time for a relaxed morning.

the room was beautiful and included everything i needed , such as comfy bed and linen. the staff were efficient and friendly. the breakfast was hearty.
the toilet had poo stains and there was dust on the radiator , this was unpleasant. the damaged mouldy blinds and view of a takeaway car park with orange lights shining all night were also disappointing.

roll top bath modern shower room comfortable bed water marks kettle limescale lack apology
The room was lovely! It included a roll top bath and a modern shower room. The bed was very comfortable, and the bedding was high quality. Dinner was delicious, and the pizzas were great. I also enjoyed the sides.
My room had water marks on the wall. The kettle was full of limescale, so I did not use it. The fire alarm went off at 1:30 am. I knew it was not the fault of the hotel because a guest decided to vape in their room. the staff did not mention or apologize the following morning.
