charming stay!

village location festive feel polite staff family room
The village location suited me well. Walking routes started right outside. the christmas decorations offered a festive feel, probably the prettiest pub i have ever been in. I liked them a lot. the staff was courteous. They ensured my stay was comfortable. the family room worked nicely for us, including a double bed and a big bunk bed.
The furniture layout in the room felt a bit full for the small space. breakfast foods were slightly lukewarm. I would have liked pastries as an option.
Service
9/10
The staff provided attentive service and were very friendly. they were quick to respond to requests, such as extra towels and room service. I appreciated it. the bar staff was polite and helpful with drink orders.
Facilities

The bar has a good environment, i observed. games were available for entertainment. there was good access via car to local attractions. I found that helpful. a varied menu was available for the evening meal.
Rooms
9/10

The furniture felt too large for the room. Breakfast, including both the food and tea, arrived lukewarm. It would have been better if pastries and yogurt were available too.

lukewarm tea slow service
the room felt smaller than expected furniture crowded the space a bit. breakfast wasn't as hot as i prefer my tea was barely lukewarm. i also wished there were pastries or yogurt available to choose instead of only cooked options it seems the service was very friendly, but a bit slow i wasn't able to eat my food and drink at the same time.

lovely stay

comfortable bed varied menu helpful team
we returned in december with friends to see the blenheim christmas lights trail. all our friends thought the beds were super comfortable (which is always a plus). the food is great with a varied menu and amazing cooked breakfast. the team are all lovely and very helpful.
the understaffing over easter weekend caused poor service. putting a lamb cutlet on top of a risotto in a bowl is impractical. i found the lamb was very undercooked. my dessert had an unappealing gray color with soggy granola.
Rooms
9/10
the room was tastefully decorated and very clean. it included a large comfortable bed and a roll top bath (i loved it). the room was well kept and had all the necessary amenities for a relaxed and luxurious experience.
