Fantastic canal-side stay!

The lady at reception provided superb service, phoning ahead with clear instructions for accessing my room late at night. I found a key waiting. The room offered a comfortable bed , made me very happy. I also found convenient, complimentary car parking available.
I noticed the hallway carpet showed some stains.

clean sheet clean bath towel good stock open fire
The room was fresh with lovely clean sheets. the bath towels were equally clean. i found a nice selection of teas and coffee in the room. the bar had a good stock and reasonable prices. Sitting by the open fire with wine was nice.
The carpet on the staircase felt a bit worn. I almost caught my shoe. the garden outside looked a little scruffy and unwelcoming.

i found the staff to be very cute. the evening meal was good. breakfast represented good value for money.
the carpet on the stairs had a split. i caught the back of my shoe on it. the outside garden seemed scruffy and unwelcoming.

Staff was friendly. The location was near the canal. The room was clean. On-site parking added convenience. I was grateful for a phone message detailing access after hours, as my arrival was delayed until 2 am. A key was left in my room. I found my room comfortable. I will return.
