hotel tour easy path
the location proved very convenient. it was directly next to downtown, and a path on the hotel was easy to follow. we were given a tour of the hotel and our room upon arrival. a glass of bubbly was offered.
the hotel lacked a cosy lounge for an evening drink. the only available space besides my room was a large hall with period seating.

quality food afternoon tea bottle champagne
I loved the room, it was a standard king room! the champagne and chocolates upon arrival, i felt valued. the breakfast service was fantastic with really high quality food. i appreciated the afternoon tea and cake so much. It was a delight.
the fire pit in the garden was not lit. i would have liked to sit and have a drink, but it was closed up.

lovely grounds great breakfast charming room
the location was excellent for exploring the cotswolds good parking was available a warm welcome awaited me with friendly staff the room was clean and the grounds were lovely breakfast was great. the building restoration showed care attention to detail was evident everywhere you could tell it was done with love and pride. our room named abbots grange was charming it had character a free standing bath and a four poster bed
the honesty bar selection was limited i noticed only one liqueur choice.

short walk amazing breakfast comfortable bed
The location was AMAZING!!! It was just a short walk to town. Breakfast was GREAT, and I REALLY appreciated the poster bed. It was comfortable. The staff also greeted us with bubbles, a VERY nice touch.
The period seating in the hall was not very cute for an evening drink.

staff shortage impersonal experience
i found some aspects disappointing given the cost. upon arrival, only one staff member was on duty. this caused a 20-minute wait for check-in (i then had to carry my bags to the room myself). i expect more when paying a premium price (over £400 for a night). the honesty bar lacked a staffed presence, thus removing any personal character to the experience (i was seeking a proper bar with service).

lack of staff self-service bar
the location of the hotel was acceptable it was close to broadway
i was disappointed by the lack of staff when i arrived there was only one person on duty so i waited to check in carrying my bags myself to the room the bar was not staffed it was self-service i expect more for the price

the building has notable architecture and an engaging history i appreciated the complimentary afternoon tea served in the great hall it provided a relaxing pause the staff showed attentiveness and offered helpful information about the building. i found the breakfast delicious with a varied menu prepared to a high standard
i noticed some slight dust in less frequented corners it did not significantly affect my stay it is something i observed.
